Location: the hotel was right by two cable cars and bus station, other restaurants and Kandersteg. Had lunch/dinner at Restaurant Adler, which I found within easy walking distance of the property. Loved the room with nice interior decor, my bed was comfy. Hair dryers, shower caps, and bath sheets was a plus.

Unique hotel with an in-house restaurant and thoughtful staff. Varied breakfast, incredible superior king room. Clean bathroom and a bath with good sewerage. Perfect and nice location except in the dining area, and only about 10 minutes' walk to Kandersteg centre.

Unfortunately, I faced several issues . The shower temperature fluctuated between hot and cold. My check-in experience was frustrating as I was misinformed about essential amenities like bathrobes and shower shoes, which ended up requiring a deposit. For the price, I expected much higher quality from the room.

Though our stay was short - just 2 nights- we were very glad to re-visit Kandersteg after 30+ years have gone by - it seems the same beautiful town that we remember. Being right on the Swiss Rail system was an important plus. We took advantage of the cable car system to go up the mountains and hike from there. We appreciated the local bus system and the beautiful setting all around Kandersteg. We also loved the location of the Hotel Alfa Soleil as it was just outside the busy main street area. The breakfast buffet was more than ample and delicious. The pick- up and drop-off transportation for the train station was very helpful. Just wish our stay could have been longer.

I enjoyed my stay, especially the really good meals served in the restaurant, which was like a gourmet experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, always available with warm smiles. The location made it easy to explore beautiful hiking trails right from the hotel.
A tea kettle would have been nice.

The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a restaurant, which is run by the owner's son, Nico - it has amazing, locally sourced (including wildflowers) cuisine. The food itself is worth a visit. The hotel is convenient for access to the mountains, approx 10 min walk to the ski gondola and 5 min to supermarket/shops.
Hotel was noisy early in the morning.

Very friendly welcome and always very helpful staff. Received at check-in a room upgrade at no extra charge. Room/junior suite came with large terrace and beautiful mountain view. The hotel's restaurant (Nico's)is a gourmet's paradise with excellent dishes and wines. Very strongly recommended.

Amazing views and warm staff
Waking up to fine mountain vistas each morning was magical. The spa facilities were a highlight, and the staff were friendly, providing helpful local tips. The included breakfast was basic. However was good. Despite its distance from the train station, the peace all around was worth the walk.

Location and breakfast (finally some vegetables !)
My room was a bit noisy, I hear screeching noise from the ceiling, they should try to improve the sound proofing.

missingWrote a review on 25 Octearly kitchen closure
The balcony had no umbrella, leaving it nearly unusable during the full sun. While the breakfast offered moderate options, hot items required an additional charge, and the shower temperature was inconsistent. The kitchen closed unusually early on Friday night, limiting dinner options to only a veggie pasta dish or chicken nuggets.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing dinner in Nico's restaurant. The service was good but a bit slow, and the food was excellent and original compare to other "Swiss" restaurant.
